Tell the Story…

Welcome!

I love all things paper and ink, always have. I am addicted to craft supplies. I love paper crafting pretty gifts and home décor. I love hand-making cards. I love photography, scrapbooking, and preserving family history.  

As the years go by, I understand more and more the importance of telling the story. Have you ever looked through a box of old pictures and wondered, "When was that taken? Who is that? Where were you then?” Sometimes you have someone there to provide answers, but as the days go by more often than not, it is too late. The memories and the stories about loved ones that go with the pictures fade and eventually cease to exist when we do not make the effort to document them. We need to ensure that future generations—our children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews—know the stories that matter. Traditional, digital, pocket, and hybrid scrapbooking are all ways of telling the stories that go with the pictures; it is our way to add color for future generations.  

If I am honest, I have to say I have had such a hard time with this. Even though I understand the importance, have a desperate desire to make beautiful scrapbooks, and have enough supplies to last multiple lifetimes; I actually have very little completed. My resolution is that changes starting now. No one is getting any younger and I cannot keep putting it off because I am behind or did not do things the way I wanted in the past. I want my littles to have my memories of their childhood, as well as their own. I want them to know their family. My plan is to use this blog as an accountability step and maybe it will help someone else along the way. No matter where you are in your crafting journey, I hope you will join me here.
